How to Have More Energy

Lion

OR: Lions Hang With Other Lions

I just didn’t get it. I was getting enough sleep, working out regularly, staying hydrated and eating healthily. Still, I was feeling tired and drained more often than not. And then I realized something: I was spending way too much time with people who dragged me down and stole my energy. So if you’re like me and the issues mentioned above are not the answer to your tiredness, and you don’t have any serious illness that could explain your feeling exhausted/tired, here’s another reason why you might feel tired all the time and some advice on how to have more energy:

Stop spending time with people who are bad for you. Au contraire, start spending time with people who are ambitious, positive, sporty and healthy. If you’re a lion, hang with other lions. Ask yourself the following question: The people I surround myself with – Do they have goood financial habits? Do they have a better body than me, work out regularly and eat healthily? Do they read more than me, learn more than me and invest their time wisely? Do they have big goals, are ambitious and encourage others to pursue their dreams as well? Are my friends who I want to be in the future? Do they fire me up every time I’m with them? Do they make me work hard and become the best version of myself? Do they inspire me? Do I see my goals fulfilled in their lives? If not, they’re probably not good for you.

Think about the people you spend most of your time with. Do they talk about illness and the news all the time? Are they always broke? Do they waste their money in expensive clubs or eating out all the time? Do they watch a lot of TV and waste lots of their time on entertainment? Truth is, sooner or later you will unknowingly copy some of your friends’ habits. If they spend a lot of time and money going out to eat or shopping, so will you when you spend time with them. On the other hand, if your friends are very healthy and do lots of sports, they’ll inspire you to work out more too. They’ll drag you to their workouts and be more active when you’re together. The easiest way to loose weight: Find friends who are at a healthy weight and spend lots of time with them. The same goes for money habits. If your friends know how to invest their money wisely and how to manage their money well, chances are you will pick up on some of their habits, and learn from them just like kids do. And you might say now that you don’t pick up on others people’s habits and that you don’t copy your surroundings. But it’s in all of us. We depended on that as children and even adults through the course of time. And there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you’re spending most of your time with people who are good for you.

And one more thing: Focus on your own challenges. See, I was one of those people who thought she could fix others and help them become better at something that I had already achieved. But I was wrong. Think about how much time and effort it takes to change your own habits and how exhausting it is. Well let me tell you something: It is just as exhausting if not even more so to try and change somebody else’s habits. It’s just nearly impossible. Let them work out their own stuff and focus on yourself and your own journey. Because in the end, you might be sorry for not spending more time on your own goals instead of trying to solve somebody else’s challenges. Figure out your own challenges and lead by example.

So go out there now and find some positive, inspiring people! If you don’t have anyone like that in your life right now, focus on your personal growth. You can learn so much from books, seminars, YouTube videos… and you will then attract the right people and draw them into your life through your success and personal growth.
